Back to routine........

Well, it's the last day of the holidays and the melancholia is beginning to set in at the thought of returning to work tomorrow. So, I decided I need to get myself sorted to out with all my projects and roster in at least 1 hour a day to sit and sew. I'm thinking Christmas presents, home projects and I have a few dolls woefully neglected needing new costumes and classes for the Autumn to think about.
But before I go into the details of that, here are the little treasures I found on holiday
I found these little egg cups in a charity shop thinking what lovely little pin cushions they would make, though my daughter thinks we should actually use them as egg cups!
I recently broke my One mug teapot and couldn't find one that I like enough to replace it. my dear friend Janet found this for me in a car boot sale.....Just right!
I don't know what I'm going to do with these picture frames yet but they were too good to let go, they were selling them cheap in one of the little galleries in Padstow
And I did find a little fabric shop in Wadebridge, It was a very, very brief visit but I did pick these bits up, perhaps it was a good thing that my time was limited I wonder what else I might have found!

And we're home!

Finally home after a terrific week in Cornwall, weather not on our side and some very wet nights but a good time had by all. Now is the task of drying and packing the tent, and can somebody explain to me how one week away camping turns into about six weeks worth of washing?

I did manage to escape a couple of times and found a few little finds, I'll show you when I'm a bit more sorted out! Did manage to read quite a lot but didn't manage any stitchery. And a little saddened that my once favourite beach is now so, so busy. And it is true that our Prime Minister is holidaying in Cornwall...we met him in his wet suit and with boogie board accompanied by the very obvious body guards. Maybe that is why the beach is spoiled??
Final photo call for the happy campers!!

Holiday Time........

I finally got away from the day job yesterday and today is the official start of my holiday....hooray!!
Shopping with my daughter is not a good idea, and as usual she came home with some holiday togs but I came away with nothing...again! Hey Ho! But I did have my hair (very long) cut, short short short! and I love it, feels very strange though. Looking forward to surf and sand without the added hair knots now. We head off to Cornwall tomorrow camping gear sorted, surf boards and wetsuits already to be loaded into the car. Now all I have to do is sort out some little pleasures for me to indulge in whilst we are there. I have two new books to look at and some little embroideries I may take to do.

It's nearly holiday time.......

It has been a very long week this week. I am so looking forward to our annual trip to north Cornwall. Only two more work days to go and then a day or two at home to get sorted and travel down in the early hours of Saturday morning. It's tradition to be at the Little Diner when it opens at 6.00 am for breakfast!

I should have been doing some housework today but, you know how it is.... I got distracted! I decided that these little embroideries I did would make cute little pillows....what d'ya think?

Vintage?

I'm a child of the 70's and in those days I used to make many of my own patch clothes from scrap packs that you could buy from Laura Ashley, well it was OK then! Also at this time I started making a patchwork quilt, which has been stowed away for many moons. I found it hidden away in a box of bits with what's left of the fabric . So if I finish it now, which I intend to, is it still vintage? It's certainly been a long time in the making....35 years or so? It does occur to me that many of the fabrics aren't available anymore.....off to stitch!

Visiting and summer days........

We just had a very pleasant few days with my Mum and Dad in Devon. Apart from the need to check on the elders, it was also an opportunity to read a little and walk a little and talk a little! Back to work tomorrow unfortunately. I spent today mostly doing the housework but did manage too finish off these little extras for my new sewing bag.

Am having a real problem at the moment as I have so much I want to do and I just don't know where to start. It has occured to me that I really should

begin to think about Christmas as I really want to make all my Christmas presents this year, and I don't want the usual last minute rush (again!)
