What a week!!

It's been a long week over here. Perhaps its just me getting older but I've been so tired when I've got home from work not helped by finding out at the last minute that I had to work friday which is usually my day off and the day I usually manage to catch up with myself.
But...can't complain I have the weekend ahead of me, chores to do yes but the weather is lovely...It rained all day yesterday!

And i have a decision to make...... This is my back door, or rather side door. It's the original 1920's door but It lets in a lot of draft and since I had the rotting 'lean to' taken down from the outside it now poses a bit of a security risk, so I have to decide weather to put up with the draft and the security risk or get a new pvc double glazed door.........ho hum!
I do have the original front door but that is behind a PVC lobby!
I wanted to keep my house as original as possible but unfortunately i don't have the finances to do that as much as I'd like to.
So, to the housework and then hopefully some playtime for me!

My, it has been a very long week! Last weekend I ran (yes ran!) the 5k Race for Life. I was very pleased with myself as running is definately not my thing. But, it was very important for me to do this this year in memory of my dear friend who was the same age as I am now when she passed away. I'm still collecting sponsorship money for cancer research and that is better than I had hoped for too. My legs are still a little stiff a week later though!

I have been taking advantage of the lighter evenings and getting on with some sewing at long last. I finished the old battered up baby pram and it looks all fresh and new now,
Whilst the camera was out Barnaby decided he wanted a serious picture taken, his handsome self!
And why give up when you are on a roll....I've wanted to stitch this design for ages, finally did it and now I have all sorts of ideas of incorporating it into a wall hanging for my studio............

A New WIP

I finally got round to doing a bit of sewing for myself. This was a little pram that Alice had when she was very small, I always liked it but it got very damaged over the years, and more recently it was buried in the depths of the old garage getting more and more faded and dusty. Today I began the restoration process. It is now pulled apart ready to clean sand and repaint and I begun putting the fabrics together to make the little pillow and duvet so that I had a bit of hand sewing to do.
Watch this space for progress!

Look what I found......

Well it's been a reasonable day today, the weather has been wonderful and I began a sort of tidy up in the garage.....I had to, to get the lawn mower out to cut the grass! the back garden was beginning to look more like a meadow than a lawn, still, grass is cut and everything looks much better! During my rummage in the garage I found this little pram that Alice had when she was tiny. The poor thing was covered in cobwebs and muck but otherwise I reckon it can be fully restored....another thing on the list of things to do!
The rest of the day has been spent working on my little box project for Kipper crafts....can't show you pictures just yet I want it to be a surprise!
